Dr. Cirangle is a pioneer and thought leader in the field of Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He has been invited to speak and present his work both in the United States and Internationally. His areas of expertise include Laparoscopic Bariatric Surgery (surgery for the treatment of obesity), Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery (surgery of the esophagus, stomach, colon and intestine), Laparoscopic Solid Organ Surgery (surgery of the pancreas, liver, spleen, and adrenal gland), Laparoscopic Biliary Surgery (surgery of the gallbladder and bile ducts), Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery, and Minimally Invasive Spine Exposure for Spine Fusion/Disc Removal. He has authored numerous original articles and book chapters on these topics. Dr. Cirangle is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), International College of Surgeons (ICS) and American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS). He is also a member and Co-Chairman of the Public Information Committee of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. He holds academic appointments both at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and The Uniformed Services University School of Medicine. He currently serves as Medical Director of Minimally Invasive and Laparoscopic Surgery at Kapi'olani Medical Center at Pali Momi in Hawaii.

Dr. Cirangle was awarded his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis where he was the recipient of a full scholarship for academic excellence. He then attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD, where he graduated in the top of his class. His surgical training was completed at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals of Cleveland. He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Surgery. His practice is currently limited exclusively to Minimally Invasive and Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery.

Dr. Cirangle was on of the first surgeons in the U.S. to receive training from Inamed Health to perform the Lap-Band procedure. He has been performing Bariatric surgery for the past six years with all laparoscopic approach successfully. He has performed hundreds of Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding procedure in the past three years along with a wonderful team of surgeon's to assist him.
